Gay Friendly
Lighthouse Bed and Breakfast
St. Brides Wentloog, Wales

www.westusklighthouse.co.uk

West Usk Lighthouse
For 187 years this romantic idyll has gazed out across the Bristol Channel, and for 101 of those years it was a saviour for the seafaring folk who plied their trade in these waters. In 1987, Frank and Danielle discovered the derelict shell and from then on it was a labour of love for them.
It's incredibly unique, pleasingly quirky and sits in one of the most romantic and atmospheric locations in Wales. How often do you get the chance to stay in a lighthouse whose massive walls resound with so much history? The accommodations are not chic, and the rooms are wedge-shaped but beautifully furnished, very comfortable and nicely equipped. There is an exquisite calm and stillness here that's enthralling, punctuated only by the distant mooing of cattle in the fields and the rush of the world's second fastest tide as it sweeps past the lighthouse on its tireless journey inland. Staying here is an experience not to be missed. It really is incredible!
