The biking tracks are mostly along forestry trails in Pennal Forest, which include some easy wide single tracks. The walks are moderate forestry and hill routes with easy terrain although some of you may find some sections a wee bit strenuous, but just take your time and soak up the breathtaking views that abound round every corner, hill and mountain. For those that want something more adventurous, there is Cadair Idris for the walkers and the cli-machx route for the bikers, both guaranteed to get the endorphins and adrenaline flowing. It has five individually styled elegant and immaculately presented en-suite bedrooms with beautiful period features. Most have wonderful views over open countryside to the hills and mountains beyond and for the less able of you there is a ground floor bedroom so no stairs. All are equipped with flat screen, 15" television with digital free-view, hairdryer, alarm clock, ironing station, and generously stocked hospitality tray with tea, coffee, hot chocolate, biscuits, mints and bottled Welsh mineral water. The Escape is fully licensed and has an honesty bar which is open 24/7 which provides chilled beer, cider, wines and champagne. This whole house has been lovingly furnished to the very highest of standards and reflects the care and dedication that Lucie and Stuart, the two remarkable and friendly owners, have unashamedly lavished on their beautiful country idyll. Their whole ethos here at this remarkable country escape it would appear was not governed by cost; their style brief must have been headed "only the best will do" and my goodness it shows. Smugglers Cove From a period cottage and chapel were born two fabulous holiday homes, restored to their former glory without detriment to their fine architectural heritage in an ethically responsible way. It really has been a labour of love for the owners Yvonne, Chris, John and Geoff whose brief must have been headed "what our guests want". The interiors are superb with log burning stoves giving a cosy atmosphere. You will even find the odd four poster bed, and both are fitted out with all the little extras that you rarely find but need. Located just 3 miles from the famous and pretty seaside town of Aberdyfi just off the foreshore of the beautiful Dyfi tidal estuary. |
