Elen’s Castle sits in the heart of Dolwyddelan village which is a natural and historical crossroads at the foot of the 872 metre high Moel Siabod and straddles the trout and salmon-rich River Lledr which wends its through the village, meadows, and turbulent gorges on it’s tireless journey to the sea. All of the bedrooms here at Elen’s Castle Hotel are beautiful and include fabulous romantic four-poster rooms that overlook the river and Lledr Valley. All have en-suite showers and several have tubs as well, and all of the bedrooms are equipped with television, well stocked hospitality tray, hairdryer, radio alarm clock, wireless broadband internet access. The main restaurant and the Garden Room enjoy beautiful views over the Lledr Valley where the tables are graced with a selection of mouth-watering local produce including fresh fish and shellfish from local waters cooked with passion and served with style. Smugglers Cove From a period cottage & chapel were born two fabulous holiday homes, restored to their former glory without detriment to their fine architectural heritage in an ethically responsible way. It really has been a labour of love for the owners Yvonne, Chris, John and Geoff whose brief must have been headed "what our guests want". The interiors are superb with log burning stoves giving a cosy atmosphere. You will even find the odd four poster bed, and both are fitted out with all the little extras that you rarely find but need. Located 3 miles from the pretty seaside town of Aberdyfi just off the foreshore of the Dyfi tidal estuary in the beautiful Snowdonia National Park |
