The village of Dolywyddelan is home of Llewelyn the Great's Castle that provides stunning views of Mount Siabod, the Crimea Pass and on clear days you can see across to the Denbigh moors. All of the bedrooms here at Elen’s Castle Hotel are charming and include fabulous romantic four-poster rooms that overlook the river and Lledr Valley. All have en-suite showers and several have tubs as well, and all of the bedrooms are equipped with Free-View television and DVD players, well stocked hospitality tray, hairdryer, radio alarm clock. Free Wi-Fi broadband Internet access is available in the bar and lounge and most of the bedrooms. The main restaurant and the Garden Room enjoy beautiful views over the Lledr Valley where the tables are graced with a selection of mouth-watering local produce including famous Welsh Black beef the shaggy-looking black cattle native to North Wales cooked with passion and served with style. Maelgwyn House conjures up for me everything that a bed and breakfast should be, and evokes fond childhood memories of holidays in my youth with my parents in Wales who always seemed to choose the best places to stay. This beautifully cute bed and breakfast sits high above the village of Harlech and enjoys stunning views across Harlech Castle to Tremadog Bay, the Dwyrd estuary and the Lynn Peninsula beyond, and provides scarlet sunsets that are just to die for. The en-suite bedrooms here at Maelgwyn House are beautifully presented with a delicious mix of brass and wooden bedsteads, which just adds to the delightful atmosphere of bon-home, that drifts effortlessly throughout this lovely house. All of the bedrooms are well equipped with: flat screen TV, DVD, generous hospitality tray, and provide either views across Tremadog Bay or the garden and surrounding hills. If you can’t quite cope with the tranquillity of getting away from it all, Wifi access is provided and the bright lights of Porthmaddog and Barmouth are only a short picturesque drive away. The Escape is fully licensed and has an honesty bar which is open 24/7 which provides chilled beer, cider, wines and champagne. This whole house has been lovingly furnished to the very highest of standards and reflects the care and dedication that Lucie and Stuart, the two remarkable and friendly owners, have unashamedly lavished on their beautiful country idyll. Their whole ethos here at this remarkable country escape it would appear was not governed by cost; their style brief must have been headed "only the best will do" and my goodness it shows.
